Love in the Time of Serial Killers

Love in the Time of Serial Killers is a darkly funny romantic comedy about true crime obsession, grief, and the terrifying possibility that your neighbour might actually be… nice.

Phoebe Walsh, a PhD candidate, is writing her dissertation on the true crime genre — if she can ever finish it. This proves difficult while she spends the summer in Florida cleaning out her childhood home, dealing with family tension, and processing the complicated grief of a distant relationship with her late father.

To make things worse, she becomes convinced her new neighbour, Sam Dennings, is a serial killer. His daytime business-casual look only makes her more suspicious of whatever he might be doing at night.

But as Phoebe slowly gets to know him, her theory starts to fall apart. Sam might not be dangerous at all — just kind, patient, and unexpectedly good at seeing through her defenses.

And that might be the scariest thing of all.
