Prize-winning Italian cellist Miriam Prandi presents her first solo album, a deeply personal interpretation of a cornerstone of the repertoire: J. S. Bach’s Six Cello Suites.  Her performance reveals a musical personality jointly shaped by a freedom from stylistic limitations and a deep respect for baroque aesthetics. This approach extends to her choice of instrument: a beautiful Grancino from 1712 strung with modern metal strings that allows clarity of line and dance-like articulation, whilst retaining the luminous resonance of the instrument.  From the radiance of the First Suite to the joyous energy of the Sixth, Prandi reveals the beauty, depth, and humanity that pervade these timeless pieces.
