It is 2026 and MEROL is back: fiercer, more vulnerable, and rougher than ever. With a new album titled Leve de Feeks (“Long Live the Shrew”), she embarks on a new musical path. Together with Flemish producer Jeroen De Pessemier (known from The Subs and Oscar and the Wolf, among others), she created wild electropunk infused with rock and techno influences, inspired by artists such as Peaches, Wet Leg, Amyl and the Sniffers, and Björk. On her new album, she breathes new life into the term “feeks” (shrew), freeing herself from all the shame she has carried about her body, her sexuality, and her desire to have children.
