JERRY FULLER’s successes as a songwriter, producer and A&R guru between the 1960s and 1990s were so spectacular, they virtually expunged his early incarnation as a singer from his timeline. Yet in the late 50s and early 60s, whilst perfecting those songwriting skills, he cut a series of records that have more than stood the test of time, a couple of which dented the US charts. This compilation presents the Very Best of Fuller’s own recording career, between 1958 and 1962, including his biggest hit, a rockin’ revival of ‘Tennessee Waltz’, a huge seller in 1959. He also recorded with other artists, e.g. Diane Maxwell, a rare-as-unicorns-manure Fuller Bros single (recorded with his brother, Bill), and the Trophies’ 45s (with bandmates Dave Burgess, Glen Campbell and Ricky Nelson). Several of these sides are impossible to find elsewhere on CD, while a number are making their digital debut.
