The Springfields’ debut LP, ’Kinda Folksy’, featuring a young Dusty Springfield, captured the singers as all-around-entertainers with a somewhat, as the title says, folksy bent. They put across such Folk material as Lee Hays’s ‘Lonesome Traveler’ and pseudo-world music like ’Wimoweh Mambo’ with energetic Pop arrangements. The album also includes more internationally minded songs: ’Wimoweh Mambo’, a brassy arrangement of ’Tzena, Tzena, Tzena,’ and ’Eso Es El Amor’. Side B of this vinyl reissue features eleven tracks culled from the group’s singles.
