Willy Deville’s Miracle was released in 1987. Being his first solo solo venture, it gave him the opportunity to collaborate with other artists, both in the studio and on stage. This album was produced and co written by Mark Knopfler (Spanich Jack) and included guitar parts by himself as well as legend Chet Atkins plus drums by Jeff Porcaro. You can clearly hear DeVille’s new sound being influenced by Dire Straits and also Van Morrison (Could You Would You). Apparently it was Knopfler’s wife that came up with the idea to match Willy’s voice and Mark’s guitar as it turned out to be a match made in heaven.
