• Former Gospel singer JOE HENDERSON, a man blessed with a wonderfully sonorous bass voice, started his solo career in 1961 and registered a million-selling, crossover R&B/Pop hit with his second 45, the classy, Brook Benton-like ‘Snap Your Fingers’.
• He also charted with ‘Baby Don’t Leave Me’, ‘Big Love’ and ‘The Searching Is Over’, while his sole LP, titled after his huge hit, also made the US album charts.
• All are included on this compilation, which is built around that LP.
• Included as bonus tracks are a single and LP which he recorded as a member of the celebrated Gospel group, The Fairfield Four, prior to his solo career.
• This body of work has never previously been compiled thus and with the exception of his signature hit, Henderson’s entire solo recorded output is new to the digital format.
• Although Joe looked to be on the verge of a major career as a Soul singer he died unexpectedly in 1964, at the age of only 27, following a heart attack.
